Who is Smiling Pug?

My photo
Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada
"I am a happy pug therefore.... I am a smiling pug"! My mum is called Smilingpug... after me! Because of her love of animals and nature, she is a Buddhist and a vegetarian (thank god). She is most inspired by the Dalai Lama. We live on the West Coast of Canada and I share my home with my two older feline sisters Tika and Kizzy and my NEW little brother Sam Cooper who... is all the way from MidSouth Pug Rescue in Tennessee!! I am 11 and I don't walk to well anymore, but that doesn't mean I don't get around! Welcome to my blog.

Crime Scene Investigation - Burnaby

Case Number #0001
Date: 26th January, 2010
Investigating CSI - Agent Smiling Pug
Location - The home of two cats and a Pug in Burnaby

Smiling Pug was called to the said location early Tuesday morning on the date listed above. A pork cutlet was found half eaten on the hallway carpet upstairs. Cutlet was discovered by the homeowners.

Upon interviewing the residents of said home the report goes as follows.

Cutlet was served at the dinner hour the night before. Male owner was unable to be completely consume pork cutlet. It was disposed of in the kitchen sink garbarator upon completion of the dinning hour.

Photo taken by Smiling Pug of the said garbarator

According to residents garbarator was not turned on. Pork cutlet was last seen in garbarator.

Early Next morning at around 8 AM, cutlet was discovered mauled on the hallway carpet on the 2nd floor of the home

Main evidence pictured here

Upon further inspection by Smiling Pug it was determined that the bite marks on said cutlet were those of either canine or feline. Cutlet has been bagged and sent to the lab.

Smiling Pug has now set about photographing and interviewing suspects within the home.

Suspect A
Tika Daisy
10 yr old Calico cat
9.5 lbs

The said suspect has got an alibi. Was seen all night sleeping soundly cuddled up with owner. When asked if it was possible Tika could have snuck out of bed unnoticed, owner replied "NO, this is not of her character, Tika doesn't like people food or the garbarator." "beside that she was purring away with me on the bed.... all night".

Tika has been ruled out due to strong alibi.

Suspect B
Winston Wilbur
8 yr old fawn pug
35 lbs

Suspect B was also known to have been with owner on bed. When asked if it is possible he left the bedroom and wandered downstairs..... owner said "yes it is" Owner did point out that Winston is a Pug. Upon research of this breed Smiling Pug discovered that they love to eat. Smiling pug concluded that had Winston gotten hold of the cutlet there would be no evidence left to find. The only evidence would be "cutlet breath"

Possible suspect - we then investigated further. Photos taken and analyzed. See results below.

Girth of said Pug does make it unlikely to have ability to get onto counter in kitchen. Pug requires steps to get onto queen sized bed. Pug also such hefty girth that stairs were once broken due to his weight.

Stairs in question pictured here

Suspect B has been ruled out as having any connection to crime.

Suspect C
Kizzy Willow
10 yr old Grey Tabby
11 lbs

Do not be fooled by her sweet innocent looks!

This suspect's whereabouts are not known of at the time of cutlet incident. Owner can not account for Kizzy being on the bed during the night. Owner said the following "Kizzy was not with us on the bed during the sleeping hours. When I woke up it was odd that she wasn't perched on her cat tree in the bedroom near the window." When questioned if this was in character of said Cat, the owner replied "Yes Kizzy is known to wander. What was odd was that she did not show any interest in her morning meal which she usually cries for at some length."

Owner handed over picture of Kizzy to Agent Smiling Pug for analysis. Here are the results.

When all 3 suspects were interviewed we only got this out of them "meow, woof, meow"

Upon investigating the crime Smiling Pug has collected all evidence and has concluded to these turn of events:

Kizzy has been charged in connection with the Cutlet Incident. It has been concluded that sometime in the night she took it upon herself to jump onto the kitchen counter and  slip her slender paw into garbarator to pull out cutlet. She possesses the correct body frame and ability to pull this off. Kizzy has been guilty of this crime before. Cutlet was then carried up to hallway upstairs where she set about consuming cutlet. Teeth marks in cutlet have tested positive as Feline. Evidence indicating Kizzy not hungry at breakfast concludes she is the one responsible for this crime. Left over cutlet on the carpet is typical of Feline actions.

Book her, agent SP!

Kizzy is now under House Arrest.

Birthday (pug) Party recap

Hi everypuggy!
Wow I had a super good time yesterday. Dickens and his Mum and Dad came. My friends Hamlet and Babette and their Mum. And my grand pawrent came too!

We all gathered at my house. After the hellos and bum sniffs we then decided, with the rain startings, we would take a walks in the Graveyard by my house (closer) rather than Deer Lake. We were good puggers staying on the pavement and not running on the graves. Here is us on our walkies.

All 4 of us near the fountain

Once at home Mum gots the snacks ready. There was chocolate cake and pie for the peoples and liver heart shaped cakes for us puggers. Mum bought me my favourite liver heart shaped cake from Big Dog Little Dog Bakery .

Here is a pic of my cake. Made just for dogs. We each gots our own heart.

I couldn't handle the snacks being placed on the table. Here I am waiting for my cake.

See those square boxes beside me on the table. Those are the heart cakes each one came in a separate box. YUMMY!

Mum placed us all in the kitchen and let us go to it. There was no squabbling over cakes we quietly ate our cakes. Well ok there was lots of snorting and licking sounds but that was it!

Babette and her cake

Dickens and Hamlet

Me! I licked all the icing off first then Mum cut up the cake part for me to eat.
Guess what Mum is doing today? Yup you guessed right.... washing the kitchen floor! BOL

After cake the peoples got to eat their cake and have coffee. Then came the prezzies. Mum did not take footage of my gift opening as I had to have her help me. I was crazy excited and out of control. Dickens Mum got pictures but we haven't seen them yets.

Here I am with my gifts. Lots of snacks and toys.

After all the excitements and walk we got sleepy.

Babette falling asleep

Hamlet lounging on the couch

I started to nod off after I finally realized the treats had been put away.

Here I am sitting with Dickens' Mum. I luvs her lots. I am getting sleepy!

Dickens and his Dad.

Oh man we were tired! Everypuggy crashed just before it was time to go home.

It was good times! I even got an 8 ball from Dickens because I am now 8! BOL

Ok this last thing is for Tuni, my luvs.

Mum went into Petsmart to get Kibble and guess what she noticed near the check out counter? We now gets Carry Outs Pizza Flavour in Canada!!!!!!!! Looks she gots me some.

Here they are called something a little different but it is the same thing, made by the same company. We do get Snausages "Carry Outs" here but they are beef and chicken flavour only. Mum thinks the pizza ones don't say "Carry Outs" cause they can't fit the "Carry Outs" text on in english and french along with the rest of the text.

(Mum thinks this cause she is a graphic artist and works in label packaging. She says this is always a problem in Canada. Cramming all this marketing text onto a package that must be in French and English!) .

So that was my party and I an pooped today. Hope you enjoyed the pictures. Now stay tuned to my blog as in the coming weeks I will be posting some special edition posts (not my birthday even though that is special edition!)
Nope this is my "Winston's Olympic Posts". Mum and I will be taking in some of the free local events and posting the happenings taking place right heres in my home town.

Stay Tuned for the Vancouver 2010 Winston Winter Olympics

Bored but cozy!

Hi everypuggy,
Today was super borings! It rained and rained and rained. Mum is sick of the rains and short days (she hates January). I am just sick of rains.... time to bring out the ark I thinks.

Mum gots the fireplace going. While she read I snuggled in on the blanket. Here I am snoring big times on top of Mum's legs. Dad could hear me all the way in the basement.

Word gots out that the fireplace was going so Kizzy arrived. She luvs the fireplace. She luvs the warmth.

Mum decided it was time for a cup of tea. When I heards the kettle whistle, I sat ups. I was a bit sleepy.

I noticed Tika had also arrived to enjoy the fire. She was curled up behind Mum's head. (Mum was sitting on the floors, I thinks she does that so I can lounge on her.)

I saw Mum come in with the mug and immediately gots up. A mug in hand usually means that there will be treats coming out. Here is my very focused look. I am focusing on Mum and the treats she has. Mum sometimes says she thinks I don't even blinks!

Yup I was rights. It was my treats from Tuni, pizza flavoured carry outs.
Muzzle smacking delicious!

(Now Winston is farting up a storm.... I think, from those treats combined with his dried liver treats from the morning.... mental note to self)

MUM! DON'T EMBARRASS ME!

Anyways..... where was I? Oh yeah, in case you were asking..... yup, Initially, when Mum gots up to go and put on the kettle, I did not move a muscle I was so cozy!

THANK YOU! Tuni and Sequoia

Woo Hoo! I heards someone leave something at the door today. Mum came home and found this!

I gots super duper excited when Mum brought it in and said "look what has arrived from Tuni and Sequoia". Here is video of me trying to get into my package.

Mum had to helps me as it was a good strong plastic envelopes.
Here is what we found inside.

The first one I opened had a label that said it was from only Tuni. Here is what she gaves me. We can't get these here in Canada and I know these are Tuni's favourites. Guess what..... they are now one of my favourites too!

The next package contained this toy. This toy was from Sequoia and Tuni. I luvs the new toy. I played pug o war with Mum and me.

Mum gots a little firm with me when I tried to opens the other two gifts. They were not for me. They were for my sisters, Kizzy and Tika. Mum had to hold me back as I got so excited and wanted all the gifts to myself. Mum even showed me the tag to prove they weren't for me, cause I did not believe her.

Mum called the girls and they came to check out what they gots.

Here is Kizzy trying to open her gift. This is when Mum gots mad at me for barging in and taking the gift from Kizzy.

They gots this cool toy that I actually grabbed from Mum and ran down the hall with. Kizzy gots mad at me for that! Then Mum tooks it away and gave it back to my sisters. I was just wanting to see its that was all.

They also gots these which Tika luved! She batted them all over the floor. Oh see my toy there on the floors, I really likes it. Thanks Girls.

I also liked the little cat toys but Mum gots mad at me saying something about how I might breaks them cause I am hard on my toys when I plays. Whatevers, I was just inspecting it to make sure it was ok.

After I managed to get Winston to calm down, I managed to get this picture of him and Kizzy playing quietly together.

MUM! yous is making me looks bad in front of Tuni!!!!!
Jeeze, anyway for anyone who doesn't know..... this here is my pug luvs Tuni.
Isn't she super cutes! She was so wonderful to send us these things.
