Who is Smiling Pug?

My photo
Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada
"I am a happy pug therefore.... I am a smiling pug"! My mum is called Smilingpug... after me! Because of her love of animals and nature, she is a Buddhist and a vegetarian (thank god). She is most inspired by the Dalai Lama. We live on the West Coast of Canada and I share my home with my two older feline sisters Tika and Kizzy and my NEW little brother Sam Cooper who... is all the way from MidSouth Pug Rescue in Tennessee!! I am 11 and I don't walk to well anymore, but that doesn't mean I don't get around! Welcome to my blog.

Winston's Wordless Wednesday on Dickens

Dickens

HEAT WAVE

I have nothing to say but "wow is it smokin hot" This was this morning at about 7am. It was about 28C inside the house! Here I am melting onto the tile from my bed.

Dickens and me at Lynn Canyon

It was a scorcher! Sunday that is. Dickens and his human picked mum and me up and we drove to Lynn Canyon on the North Shore. We drove in the comfort of air con!!!! We walked the trail and swam in the natural pool, I even crossed the suspension bridge without hesitation this time. I am soooooooo not scared of that bridge anymore. (ok maybe having little Dickens there helped a bit).

My weekend excursion to Bowen Island

Wow, was I surprised when mum picked up the ringing phone! She hates the phone. Then I was super excited when I heard we were going to house sit on Bowen Island and we would be going away for 3 days. 3 days away from my sisters! No meowing, no fighting for attention, no standing in line waiting for treats..... just me and mum. We arrived at the house and I settled right in. Nice big yard and lots of room to play chuck it and chew toy. I even chased a deer back into the woods where it came from. I showed it who was boss. Here are the pictures of the weekend.
Leaving the island, I fall asleep at the ferry terminal while we wait for the ferry. Mum screwed up and we had to wait 2.5 hours for the next ferry, but we were the first car in line! I was soooooo tired at the end of the 3 days.
Starting to fall asleep
The big twiggy looking tree at the beach near the ferry
Packed and ready to head home
Lounging on the deck on the last day. (look at the truck in the background..... free advertising here for human uncle Noel)
Lounging with mum on the last night. I was so cozy and sleepy
The deer in the yard, I showed him who was boss!
On our second day mum took me to the beach. I had been here last time we were visiting. I did chuckit and some swimming but the tide was in so we didn't stay long.
Mum left me at the house and disappeared in the car!!! She came home some hours later with many bags. She was so excited about the cute stores. The good news was I got this cool squirrel toy and some treats for being a good boy while she was gone.
I loved squirrel so much I became obsessed with it! I played with it the entire time I was there. Ok I let mum slip this one in. She took me there on the 3rd day and we sat outside and had chocolate mocha and snacks. She went to this place 2 times she just loved it. I didn't mind as the little pet store was right across from it!
Each morning I got up went out and peed on the world then grabbed chuck it. No putting on a leash and walking through the neighbourhood. I want a big yard like this one too!
Mum got mad at me the first morning because I looked out the window while I lounged on the bed and barked at every little noise I heard. I did have to secure the area in case of intruders, like ..... say....... DEER! This pictures was taken at 5:30 am. Mum was not impressed with me.
On the ferry going home
Watching the big Nanimo ferry coming into dock. This is when we were leaving to go to Bowen Island. Mum says one day she will take me on that big ferry.

I am dog therefore I howl!

Mum caught me on film while I had my howling episode at the ambulance that drove near our house the other day. I don't do this often but this day I needed to howl!
